Musetta Blog Since I'm still a bit "technically challenged" our friend, Michael on Cayenne, was kind enough to create a blog for us. Here is where you can input your comments and read what other folllowers of the Musetta Log have to say: http://musetta.us/serendipity/ Global Postioning System Thanks to a suggestion from my friend, Ken, I have now included GPS waypoints in my log. For those who would like to pinpoint exactly where I'm writing about, you can download free software to view each position. Ken's recommendation is to go to the Google search engine page, where you'll find a download link for a free program called Google Earth. Ken says, "It is flat out amazing. The zooming and rotating of the actual earth images is like flying. The only downside is that the program is set up to work with fast internet connections, like DSL and cable." Here is the link to the download page: http://earth.google.com If you do not have a fast internet connection, try doing a search in Google or (whichever serach engine you use) for "Free GPS Imagery" to find something that will work for you. Sky Images If you enjoy looking at the night sky and constellations, our friend Todd found this site where you can download free software and view what the sky looks like at specific GPS locations and times. It's kind of fun: http://stellarium.sourceforge.net/ Those of
you who enjoy reading sea stories may be interested in the web-sites of

the trash on the beaches and plastic bags caught in trees, shrubs, fences,
tidepools, floating on the ocean, I'm
more determined than ever to decrease my use of plastic bags. Anyone who's seen "An Inconvenient
Truth" has got to be spurred to action as well. A VERY SIMPLE THING
we can all do to help the environment is to use
cloth bags at the grocery counter. I found a great website that has TONS
of information on how both paper and plastic bags harm the environment,
with totes and bags for produce, bulk grains, and check-out plus
more. Please take a moment to look at the facts on this site, and
then take action. www.reusablebags.com Gary Lewin, one of the guys we met aboard Solmate in Nicaragua, has a radio station devoted to good news: "inspiring stories about people helping to solve environmental challenges affecting life on Earth. We share positive environmental ideas and actions that individuals, businesses, institutions or communities can embrace." He's got a lot of interesting stories, and podcasts if you care to listen on-line. If you have some time, you'll enjoy this website. www.gooddirtradio.org.
